This month’s feature in our new “Pro’s Picks” section is on the Benelli’s Vinci shotgun. On a recent waterfowl trip to Colorado with Stillwater Outfitters, our staff at Sportsman’s News were able to put the Vinci to the test and it passed with flying colors!
We found this great addition to the line of Benelli shotguns to be lightweight, with very soft recoil, resulting in a very fast shooting cycle. We experienced no jams or cycling problems what so ever and found it to be one of the most reliable and efficient firearms we have ever put to the test.
The superbly balanced Vinci embodies a new and different way of looking at shotgun design, with advanced ergonomics that assure fluid gun-movement. The unique modular design makes it easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning, maintenance, storage and transportation.
Many Sportsmen complain about gas operated shotguns having problems in cold weather conditions. This is taken care of with the new In-Line Inertia Driven operating system, maybe the simplest semi-automatic shotgun operating system ever devised and combined with the ComforTech Plus recoil system, offers the softest kicking shotgun you will ever put to your shoulder. This system decreases muzzle climb and allows you to get back on target for your next shot faster, which led to more birds on the ground at the end of our day.
The one major difference we noticed in the design was the placement of the safety in front of the trigger housing. This took a little getting used to, but once we became accustomed to it, no problems were encountered and a great hunting experience was had by all of our staff and plenty of big “Honkers” made their way to our dinner tables for Christmas.
The Vinci is a great addition to the Benelli line of high quality firearms and we highly recommend stopping by your local Sportsman’s Warehouse and taking a look for yourself.
