In the world of rifle scopes price has come to determine quality. That paradigm may have made a dramatic shift with the introduction of the Bushnell Trophy XLT.

The Trophy XLT features Bushnell’s patented DOA (Dead On Accurate) reticle with Rack Bracket, that easily provides range to target based upon the average size of a mule deer or whitetail’s ears.

The average whitetail has ears 17 inches apart from tip to tip, while a mule deer’s ears measure 24 inches on average. Bushnell has taken this information and created a reticle with hash marks to show you the proper range to target by centering the ears of your deer between the scope’s lines. For example, if your deer’s ears fit between the third set of lines when the scope is set to maximum magnification, you can easily tell that he is at 400 yards. In addition to providing distance to target, the scope also provides a hold-over compensation point for your specified range.

The sturdy matte black one-piece tube comes with a special coating that stands up to rough field use without scratching. Multi-coated optics provide excellent light gathering in low early morning and late evening light, gathering 91 percent of the available light. Additionally, the clarity of the image was very sharp and the contrast was excellent, even when looking at objects hundreds of yards away. Our 3-9×40 model offered quick and smooth sighting at ranges out past 600 yards with minimal adjustment of eye relief after adjusting the magnification thanks to its Fast Focus eyepiece.

The turrets are fingertip adjustable in ¼ MOA increments for fast zeroing or adjustment on the go. The scope is nitrogen filled, and is fogproof, waterproof, and shock proof, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It also comes standard with Butler Creek flip up covers.

The Rack Bracket system is compatible with a majority of today’s modern hunting calibers and bullet weights.

Retailing for right around $100, the Trophy XLT provides great value for so much quality. The DOA reticle negates the need to carry a separate rangefinder, freeing the shooter up to concentrate on that all-important shot. With the Trophy XLT, Bushnell has proven that you don’t need a scope costing thousands of dollars to get the job done.

Bushnell is a good name you can depend on. I have two scopes, and the Bushnell has come through for me every time.
