Making that great shot means knowing how far away your target is. Bushnell has created a great rangefinder for that purpose, but has also created a special version of it to help those who have lost a family member in combat.
The Bushnell Scout1000 Rangefinder Patriot Edition provides rifle shooters and archers with a great piece of equipment, while also donating a portion of the sale to the Folds of Honor Foundation to provide scholarships to the children of fallen warriors.
The Rangefinder:
The Scout1000 is innovative in that it offers two modes, one for rifle shooters and one for archers. It includes Angle Range Compensation (ARC), which automatically measures inclination and computes range based upon the distance to the target as well as the angle to the target, providing you a true distance.
Bushnell has also allowed those shooting today’s high performance rifles to range out to 1,000 yards while also maintaining closer ranges for archers into as close as five yards. Its innovative laser and 5x magnification will accurately range through rain and mist, and even brush to provide an accurate reading. A Bullseye sensor allows the radius of the laser to be pinpointed for small game without giving inaccurate background readings.
The Scout1000 is lightweight and comes with a magnetic snap case so it opens and closes silently in the field. It weighs a mere 6.6 ounces and fits easily in the hand. A small screw thread in the base allows it to be easily mounted to a tripod for those long range shots. It comes with a CD including ballistic tables and an instruction manual.
The Patriot Edition includes a rubber sleeve printed with the Folds of Honor Foundation logo so all of your hunting buddies will know that you helped to support this great cause.
The Folds of Honor Foundation:
The Folds of Honor Foundation is a non-profit organization founded to assist the families of soldiers wounded or killed in battle with scholarships and support. Since 2007, the Folds of Honor Foundation has provided millions of dollars in assistance to the spouses and children of those killed or disabled while protecting our nation.
Out of the 172,000 dependents currently affected by the loss or injury of a soldier, 85 percent do not qualify for VA education benefits. The foundation was founded by professional golfer and Air National Guard F-16 pilot Major Dan Rooney, who has flown three tours in Iraq. A range of select Bushnell products will bear the logo of the Folds of Honor Foundation and a portion of the purchase price of those products will go to raise funds for this organization dedicated to helping the families of those who have sacrificed for our freedom. Those units purchased right now also include a $30 rebate that includes the option to donate a portion or the entire rebate to the Folds of Honor Foundation, giving you the opportunity to help even more.
For more on the Folds of Honor Foundation visit www.foldsofhonor.org. To donate right now, text the word “Honor” to 27722 to donate $10. You will receive a text back to confirm your tax deductible donation. Reply “yes” and your $10 donation will be added to your next cell phone bill.

I have been getting a lot of use out of my range finder this past summer. The hardest part is being able to keep it still enough to get the long distance range.
Great cause!
