For the first time, Leatherman is introducing multitools with spring loaded pliers.
The latest of these to hit the shelves of Sportsman’s Warehouse is the Sidekick.
Always having the need for a multitude of multi-tools, I was eager to get my hands on this latest offering. With an MSRP of only $39.99, the Leatherman Sidekick puts a great quality tool into your hands, tackle box, tool chest, glove compartment, belt, or wherever you need an extra tool.
Having the name Leatherman on the handle ensures you will be getting a tool that will last you for years.
The Sidekick is lightweight and has an amazingly ergonomic grip in the hand. It features all of the tools you use the most but also features a removable pocket clip for carrying without a case. Instead of a traditional belt case or sheath, the Sidekick comes with a suede pouch with large grommets at the top. A separate tool with a carabineer clip, bottle opener, bit driver, and wire stripper clips through the grommets and hooks to your pack or tool bag for easy access.
Having the spring opening jaws on the pliers makes cutting wire a breeze. It also saves your knuckles by keeping you from having to force the jaws open with the top of your fingers each time you want the bite down with the pliers.
It is also the smoothest opening multi-tool we have seen on the market.
The Sidekick is so affordable that it is a no-brainer to add one to your existing tools. It fits well for the daily worker or the occasional user. It is a welcome addition to an already fine line of tools and will find a place where it is most needed in my daily toolbox. And like all Leatherman products, it is proudly made in the USA.
