For a low cost yet reliable self defense gun, look no further than the Smith & Wesson Sigma SW40VE. Featuring an ergonomic 18-degree grip angle, a 14+1 capacity, stainless steel slide with two-tone coloration, and some of the most innovative internal safety mechanisms on the market, the Sigma brings reliability and performance into range of most budgets.

The Sigma offers the ruggedness and durability of stainless steel, a feature usually reserved for higher end guns. Coupled with a polymer frame, the stainless slide offers a stunning contrast that makes the Sigma stand out. This gun is ideal for those who may need a gun that can take the abuse of improper storage, inclement weather, or not being cleaned on a regular basis.

A fixed three dot sighting system offers a no nonsense easy to use aiming interface that is instinctive to both beginning shooters as well as seasoned pros.

A slim profile and a 14+1 round capacity of .40 S&W rounds means you don’t have to sacrifice capacity for comfort. The Sigma comes with two 14 round magazines right out of the box.

As a striker fired pistol, the Sigma offers the simplicity provided by eliminating external safeties coupled with the security of internal safety mechanisms that prevent the gun from firing unless the trigger is pulled.
While the Sigma has a fairly stiff 9.1 lb trigger weight, this is desired in a gun carried for self defense as it reduces the likelihood of an accidental discharge during a stressful dynamic incident.

A forward accessory rail accepts most lights and external lasers, and easy takedown controls make stripping and cleaning the pistol an easy task.

An oversized external extractor provides smooth running of the gun. A loaded chamber indicator lets the shooter easily verify the loaded status of the gun.

The Sigma is a good choice for home protection, learning shooting, personal carry, or just for someone who likes to shoot targets for sport.

It is built on a highly reliable framework that has been proven in the stress of real gunfights. It is simple to use yet has all of the features you would expect from a name like Smith & Wesson.

While the longer trigger pull will take some getting used to, the gun has fantastic accuracy once you master the trigger. A full sized 4-inch barrel and longer sight alignment ensure tight groups even at longer distances.

Like this gun and would like to enter the monthly giveaway contest for it, but have been unable to. When I go to contests it wants me to register, even though I already am and am logged in. What am I doing wrong?
