OfflineThere are what they call feeder kings in the waters of southeast Alaska year round, but they are usually smaller fish and they are not keyed on by the middle to end of July. The silvers start coming in then and the first run are usually in the 8 to 14 pound range and as the first run ends and the second run begins, the fish have had a chance to put on some more weight and you can see fish pushing the 20 pound range. But in reality, most of the king fishing is done late May through mid July.

OfflineThe Team of Kent Danjanovich and Kevin Orton completed their whirlwind tour in Alaska with a final stop at Tree Tops Lodge on Prince of Wales Island. Their Thorne Bay location was breathtaking and the fishing was great as well. The second run of silvers were just starting to show up and the halibut, yellow eye and lingcod were cooperating too! Stay tuned for a recap on this great southeast Alaska lodge in an upcoming edition of the Sportsman's News.
