Smith and Wesson always American made!  By far my favorite modern firearm company.

We have worked out the gun a month deal with Smith & Wesson which is primarily a handgun company. We have done 2 ARs and will do another in 2012 and are working on getting a Thompson Contender rifle for this year as well.

That's great news Dan, and there's nothing wrong with handguns. I have more handguns than long guns.Laugh But I wouldn't mind having a Thompson Contender as well.Surprised

Thank you very much for these efforts, Dan.

I hope that you are able to give the various winners the name and address of the S&W person making these decisions, so an appropriate thank you can also be sent.

There are definitely several S&W wheelguns on my list to get eventually, as finances allow.  I have  never fired a S&W that I didn't like.

My ratio of long guns to handguns is 2:1.  I am definitely a handgun fan.  Dan's review of the 642 was pivotal in my choice to buy it at SW.

I'm the exact oposite….I seem to have more long guns then hand guns.  Could be related to the fact that i'm better with a long gun then a hand gun…hmmmm  Smile

The reason I have more handguns than longguns is, several years ago, while I was working out of state, my house was burglarized and all of my guns were stolen except the handgun I had with me. The police have recovered two of the pistols but no long guns. Since then I have bought a Winchester gun safe that weighs more than 500 pounds empty. I have not been able to replace all of my guns. Before my mother died she gave me the money to buy a rifle. When my father died I got his old shotgun.

That sucks….sorry dude

I don't have a single handgun yet, and I like the reviews that come out on Sportsman's.  They have taught me a lot about them and one day I will buy one!

SW is really different from the other choices that we all have. The top three things I like about SW>

1)customer service
