Good idea, but I can tell you I flew commercial on Southwest to Louisiana and back with nary a scratch on it. And flying Southwest is about as hard a beating as you can put on any luggage.

Yeah that looks nice, I would like to see some drop tests results ;)  those baggage fellers can get a little rough sometimes.

I think it would have suprised me if you had ripped the case for being poorly made. SKB has a reputation for building really solid cases and a well deserved one from what i've seen.

That is a beautiful box for carrying your gun on travels. Thank you for the info.

If you need to travel and want to take a pistol, you need a TSA approved pistol case and among all of the makers of such cases, SKB leads the pack.

The small pistol case by SKB features injection molding from ultra high-strength polypropylene copolymer resin, material specified by the U.S. military for cases and containers. It features a gasketed, water and dust-tight submersible design, meeting military standards. The automatic ambient pressure equalization valve self-regulates for different altitudes meeting military standards. It is resistent to UV, solvents, corrosion, fungus and impact damage, surpassing military standards. The case features a continuous molded-in hinge with stainless steel pin, a patent pending “trigger release” latch system, and a comfortable, snap-down, rubber over-molded handle. The small pistol case is comfortable and durable in transport and secure and stable in storage thanks to SKB’s interlocking case design. With two padlockable eyelets, the small pistol case is completely secure. Capable of accommodating 2-4 handguns with its layered convoluted foam interior, the small pistol case is backed by SKB’s Unconditional Lifetime Warranty.

What really makes the SKB cases stand out is their durability. Many similar cases are rated for X number of trips on a commercial airliner. The SKB cases are designed for use by the military. They have carried gear to the South Pole and survived airplane crashes. They are rugged enough for even your most valuable and fragile gear. We use them to transport weapons for hunting trips when we have to make sure the optics are protected. We also carry camera gear and expensive sound equipment for our TV show in them. The SKB blend of plastics and polymers makes the case nearly indestructible in even the most extreme environments.

Water and dust proof, pressure equalized, rugged, lockable, and meeting TSA regulations, these cases are the choice of the Sportsman’s News team on all of our expeditions.
